About Jim Munchbach

In almost 20 years serving his clients, Jim Munchbach has seen the power of purpose in shaping people’s vision for the future, motivating them to reach their goals, and giving them a thrill when they connect their money to what matters most. Jim is the founder and president of Bridger Resources, providing coaching and training for individuals and organizations. In addition to Make Your Money Count, he is the author of What Matters Most, a book written to financial advisers who want to serve clients by first clarifying their core values. Jim's process helps professionals and their clients connect resources to what matters most.

Jim is a State Farm agent in Clear Lake, Texas, where he and his team specialize in insurance planning. His extensive experience with clients following disasters like the Northridge Earthquake, Hurricanes Andrew and Katrina, and dozens of other catastrophes has taught Jim the tremendous value of planning—before the unexpected happens. Jim wrote Make Your Money Count because he believes good money management is a discipline that builds financial, emotional, as well as spiritual muscle and is a crucial element of balanced living.

Sound financial principles apply to people of any religious stripe: Muslim or Christian, Hindu or Buddhist, agnostic or atheist. A transcendent perspective of life, though, often comes from a person’s concept of God and God’s purposes for our lives. Jim is a follower of Christ, and his coaching, training, and speaking focus on helping people relate Jesus' teachings to everyday issues at work and at home, in business and in life. These lessons are intended to help individuals and families experience the hope, love, peace, and joy that Jesus promises to those who follow him.

The principles in Make Your Money Count are useful in business environments, civic groups, and churches. Jim is especially passionate about seeing Make Your Money Count used in churches—in small groups, classes, or in church-wide programs—to encourage believers to use their resources in ways that build families and honor God.

Jim and his wife, Connie, live in Friendswood, Texas, and they have three children. Their oldest son, JR, serves in the United States Army. The Munchbachs belong to Friendswood Community Church, where they serve in various ministries.
